It's my kind of town, it's yellow and brown
I'm here at the mother of all mega-churches in Chicago at an arts conference. It's been cool. It's been a lot of things, really, and cool is one of them. Conference aside, it's been good to get to know some of the people on staff at my church a little better. One of the interesting things that happens when you spend a lot of time with people is the realization that we're all pretty similar. And in the church this is interesting, because on trips like this one all of our doubts and the things we may not advertise come out. And we find out that we all think the same things within the context of the church and worship. Things like "is ANYONE buying this?" or, "man, this is totally gay". Or, "God, please help". What I think: nobody really knows anything. And there isn't much that we really actually believe. The list, at it's core, is really short, but we act like it's long.
